Web Removal Is Part of the Treatment, Not an Extra
Some operators spray without web removal and charge extra for it. Web removal is included in all our spider treatments because it is not cosmetic. It directly affects how long the treatment works.
Old webs attract new spiders
Spider webs contain pheromone signals and prey remnants that attract other spiders to the same location. A sprayed web left in place after treatment acts as a marker for the next spider. Removing webs before spraying eliminates this signal and reduces the rate at which new spiders re-establish in treated areas. The residual spray then kills any spiders that do arrive and attempt to build in the sprayed zone.
Remove first, spray second
Webs are knocked down with an extendable tool before any spray is applied. Spraying before or without web removal reduces contact between the insecticide and the surface. Egg sacs hidden in webs are also physically removed with the web removal step. A web with an egg sac left sprayed in place may still hatch, contributing to re-establishment within 4-6 weeks of treatment.
Ask if web removal is included
A quote of $180 without web removal versus $220 with web removal is not a better deal. The $180 spray-only treatment will require retreatment sooner because new spiders establish faster in areas where webs were not removed. Over two treatment visits, the spray-only approach costs more and delivers less consistent results. Confirm web removal is part of the quoted price before booking.
Roof void spray at no extra charge
Spiders in the roof void descend into living areas through light fittings, exhaust fan openings, and ceiling cracks. Roof void spray is included in the standard residential price. It addresses the source population rather than only the visible external spiders. A treatment that does not include the roof void leaves a re-establishment source in place.
Is the Annual Prevention Plan Worth the Cost?
For most Brisbane properties, a single annual treatment is sufficient. Properties with heavy garden coverage, proximity to bushland, or persistent funnel-web or redback pressure benefit from quarterly visits.
