Staged Treatment Through Construction Phases

Site Establishment
Rodent stations deployed at the perimeter when the site is cleared and fenced. Fly control and wasp inspection of any disturbed soil, stacked timber, and materials storage areas.
Pre-Pour
Chemical soil barrier, physical barrier, or reticulation system installed before the concrete slab is poured. QBCC compliance certificate issued on the same day and provided to the builder. This is the most time-critical treatment on any residential site.
Frame and Lock-Up
Perimeter top-up treatment to close any barrier gaps created around footings, paths, and landscaping connections not accessible at the pre-pour stage. Site office and amenities treatment continued on a monthly schedule.
Practical Completion
General pest treatment of the completed building prior to handover. Site rodent stations decommissioned. First annual termite inspection date noted in the compliance documentation for the new owner.

Pre-Pour Termite Barrier Installation
Chemical soil barrier (Termidor SC, Biflex AquaMax), physical barrier (Kordon, HomeGuard), or reticulation system installed before or during the slab pour. QBCC AS 3660.1 compliant. Rodent Bait Station Program
Tamper-resistant bait stations deployed at the site perimeter, near stored materials, at the site office, and adjacent to skip bins and amenities. Construction sites clearing surrounding land push rodent populations onto the active site. Stations inspected and refilled monthly. Activity report issued to site manager after each inspection.
Fly Control
Construction sites with skip bins, uncovered drains, disturbed soil, and temporary toilets generate significant fly populations. UV light traps in the site office and lunchroom, and perimeter spray to skip bin areas and toilet facilities. Fly control is one of the most common WorkSafe site hygiene issues raised on Queensland construction sites.
Site Office and Amenities Treatment
Portable site offices, lunchrooms, and amenities buildings are treated for cockroaches, ants, and rodents on a regular schedule. Site lunchrooms with food storage are frequently the highest pest pressure area on any building site. Treatment scheduled outside working hours or at the start of shift before workers arrive.
Wasp and Bee Treatment
European wasps frequently nest in disturbed soil, under stored formwork and timber, and in excavated trenches on Brisbane construction sites. Any active wasp nest near workers is a safety issue.
