Staged Treatment Through Construction Phases

Different pest control work is required at different stages of construction. We schedule each treatment to align with the build program so there are no delays caused by waiting for pest control. For new home pre-construction detail, see our new home pre-construction page.

Stage 1

Site Establishment

Rodent stations deployed at the perimeter when the site is cleared and fenced. Fly control and wasp inspection of any disturbed soil, stacked timber, and materials storage areas.

Stage 2

Pre-Pour

Chemical soil barrier, physical barrier, or reticulation system installed before the concrete slab is poured. QBCC compliance certificate issued on the same day and provided to the builder. This is the most time-critical treatment on any residential site.

Stage 3

Frame and Lock-Up

Perimeter top-up treatment to close any barrier gaps created around footings, paths, and landscaping connections not accessible at the pre-pour stage. Site office and amenities treatment continued on a monthly schedule.

Stage 4

Practical Completion

General pest treatment of the completed building prior to handover. Site rodent stations decommissioned. First annual termite inspection date noted in the compliance documentation for the new owner.

On-Site Services

Construction Site Pest Control Services

Active construction sites face different pest pressures to any occupied building. Cleared land, disturbed soil, stored materials, and on-site food all attract pests from surrounding areas. Each service below addresses a specific site pressure.

Pre-Pour Termite Barrier Installation

Chemical soil barrier (Termidor SC, Biflex AquaMax), physical barrier (Kordon, HomeGuard), or reticulation system installed before or during the slab pour. QBCC AS 3660.1 compliant. Certificate and all required documentation issued on the day. Builder coordination included. See our full pre-construction termite treatment page.

Pre-pour stage

Rodent Bait Station Program

Tamper-resistant bait stations deployed at the site perimeter, near stored materials, at the site office, and adjacent to skip bins and amenities. Construction sites clearing surrounding land push rodent populations onto the active site. Stations inspected and refilled monthly. Activity report issued to site manager after each inspection.

Monthly

Fly Control

Construction sites with skip bins, uncovered drains, disturbed soil, and temporary toilets generate significant fly populations. UV light traps in the site office and lunchroom, and perimeter spray to skip bin areas and toilet facilities. Fly control is one of the most common WorkSafe site hygiene issues raised on Queensland construction sites.

Fortnightly

Site Office and Amenities Treatment

Portable site offices, lunchrooms, and amenities buildings are treated for cockroaches, ants, and rodents on a regular schedule. Site lunchrooms with food storage are frequently the highest pest pressure area on any building site. Treatment scheduled outside working hours or at the start of shift before workers arrive.

Monthly

Wasp and Bee Treatment

European wasps frequently nest in disturbed soil, under stored formwork and timber, and in excavated trenches on Brisbane construction sites. Any active wasp nest near workers is a safety issue. Same-day or next-morning response for wasp nest calls on active sites. Call 0406 178 471 directly for urgent wasp situations.

Builder Partnerships

Builder Partnerships and Site Coordination

We work with builders, project managers, and subcontractor coordinators directly to make sure pre-pour treatment happens at exactly the right time and does not delay the build program. Builders with multiple concurrent projects receive a dedicated contact and consolidated reporting across all active sites.

Build schedule coordination

We receive the slab pour date from the project manager and confirm a 24-hour treatment window. Treatment is completed and the site is cleared before the concreting crew arrives. No delays to the build program.

Multi-site project reporting

Builders with multiple active sites receive consolidated weekly or monthly reporting covering all pre-pour treatments completed, upcoming treatment dates, and rodent station activity across the project portfolio.

Direct contact for urgent situations

Builders and site managers have a direct phone line that bypasses the standard booking queue for urgent situations such as wasp nests near workers or last-minute pre-pour scheduling changes.

Owner/buyer communication

On request, we communicate directly with the property owner or buyer after pre-pour treatment, explaining what barrier system was installed, how long it lasts, and when the first annual inspection is due.

FAQ

Construction Site Pest Control FAQ

Do you install pre-pour termite barriers on construction sites?
Yes. Pre-pour termite barrier installation is our most common construction site service. We install chemical soil barriers (Termidor SC), physical barriers (Kordon, HomeGuard), and reticulation systems before the concrete slab is poured. QBCC AS 3660.1 compliance documentation is issued on the day and provided directly to the builder. See our full pre-construction termite treatment page.
How do rodent stations work on active construction sites?
Tamper-resistant bait stations are placed at the site perimeter, near the site office and amenities, and at any stored food or waste areas. Construction sites clearing surrounding land push rodent populations onto the active site. Stations are inspected and refilled monthly. Activity levels are recorded per station and reported to the site manager after each inspection.
Can you treat builder site offices and amenities?
Yes. Portable site offices, lunchrooms, and amenities buildings are treated for cockroaches, ants, and rodents on a monthly schedule. Site lunchrooms with food storage are frequently the highest pest pressure area on any building site. Treatment is scheduled outside working hours or before shift start where possible.
Do you partner with major Brisbane builders?
Yes. We work directly with builders and project managers to coordinate pre-pour timing, provide QBCC documentation for final inspections, and manage ongoing site pest programs. Builders with multiple concurrent projects receive a dedicated contact and consolidated reporting. Call 0406 178 471 to discuss a builder partnership arrangement.
What about wasps and bees during construction?
Wasp nests on active construction sites are treated as an urgent site safety issue. European wasps commonly nest in disturbed soil, under stored formwork, and in excavated trenches. Call 0406 178 471 directly for same-day response to any active wasp nest near workers. Bee swarms are treated differently and we advise on the best approach when you call.
Do you provide QBCC compliance documents for new home termite treatment?
Yes. Every pre-pour termite treatment includes a signed compliance certificate with the barrier type, products used with APVMA registration numbers, treatment area, date, and the technician's QLD PMT licence number. This is the document the QBCC requires for final building inspection and it is issued to the builder on the same day as treatment.
